If you have any information on any lost Boston terrier,
or would like to post a lost one of your own, please email us or
contact Alabama Pet Registry and/or The Dog Detective.

We lost our Boston Terrier on Friday, June 4, 2009. He got out of our backyard and was out no more than two hours. We live in Vestavia Hills. He is a 7 year old male (neutered) Boston. Some guys painting a house down the street said a man picked him up and was going to take him to see if he had a chip (which he does not). We have checked with vets and posted signs in the neighborhood and have heard nothing. We love our dog and miss him! I have attached a picture of him (Hobbs). He did not have a collar on. Please let me know if anyone contacts you about him.
Thank you.

Start with Alabama Pet Registry (Dennis - 205-969-2241). This is if you are in Alabama. If not, look online for lost pet sites and post on Craig's List.

Post flyers with the vet's offices as the person you talk to at the vet might not be there if he came in or if whoever finds him calls. I would hit every single vet you can find. Shelters and pet food places should get the flyers too. Make sure to go to the shelters (humane society, animal control, etc.) daily. They are usually understaffed and can forget the flyers. Also, the person you speak to on the phone may not know all the dogs there, so you need to physically go there and look at the dogs. (It is hard, but this is to find your baby). Post flyers at places where someone might go to buy dog supplies (Petco, vets, grocers, etc.) so that if someone has found your dog and is getting that dog the basics, they might see your flyer!

I would try to think of anyone who is out on the road a lot around your area and contact them. I suggest speaking to the local postman, the people who read meters, the cable guy, pest control companies, the police, the Fedex/ UPS guys - anyone who is out and about on a regular basis who might see him. When you speak to them, give them a couple of posters (for themselves and for others they meet). See if they might announce it on a local radio station.
